Horrible Business practice

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
NEVER AGAIN!!! I bought the $300 oil change pack in 2014 and that Mgr. threw in 3 free (total 8) and when that one ran out early 2017 I purchased a second one giving them the benefit of the doubt that all the horrible reviews were random and the Mgr. gave me that day oil change free for the new $300 purchase (total 6). Today I went to get my oil change for the first one this card and the General Manager Phillip Konotts accused me of stealing more oil changes then allowed because the previous managers weren't allow to add oil changes to the over price packages and wanted to charge me for 3 because he said "he was going to clean up this shop"! So you lost one more client, good job Phillip! It was my mistake for going back. This shop has turned into the biggest Joke of the neighborhood! Do yourself a HUGE favor and avoid this place as if you were going to catch the plague! And if the district Manager wanted to call and apologize for Phillip's horrendous business practice I would add the note to this review: Calvin C. standing by....

Warranty Claim

My car Honda Accord 2009 got fixed (Replaced Front & Rear Brake Pad and Rotors) from Driver's auto repair Jones Road location and they charged me $800 (which is 4 times over price) and give me 50000 miles / 24 Months warranty on it. I got the same issue after few months and now the guy terry (whom he called himself manager) he schedule an appointment for next day to drop my car which i went but no one showed up over there. Long in short they said it's not brake issue. Keep it mind i took my car to dealer before to driver's auto shop. They checked and told me that my car need a replace of front brake pads and rotors. I showed manager about what the dealer diagnose and they don't accept on that. This company is crook and there are so many people who gave a very bad reviews for this company Be aware to go to this shop to fix your car. They saying they have ACE certified technician which they don't.

Worst experience with any company ever. I had an alternator on warranty. They said they warranty was prorated, but that the wire was bad. the wire was one that they! replaced. When I said to just put it back together and ill take it elsewhere, Eric said that I would still have to pay for them taking it apart to look at it in the first place. These people are dishonest and awful. I should have read more reviews. Not the ones on their website though, those are all high ratings. If you read closely, one lady had to give a high rating just for the website to take her bad review. One thing that Eric pointed out, is that it takes character for a company to allow bad reviews. Funny how all the google and yelp reviews are awful and the website reviews are higher.

I first time came here base on those good reviews and really make me disappointed and depressed. I have a almost 10years old and 150k mileage Camry. I know it has some problems but driving is fine. We already start looking at new car to trade in this one. I tell them I just want to replace the brake light and inspection. After a while I got a quote around 1600$, I said no, too expensive for me. Then I got a reduced quote 950$. I accepted even more than my budget. They sent me home and said the car will be ready at lunch time. When me and my friend ate at a restaurant I got phone call and been told there are some other staff need fix. Since restaurant is kind of noisy I can hear clearly. I heard I need pay 36 something more. So I'm thinking maybe they found something else need pay a little more to fix it, then I said ok. They told me the car will be ready by end of day. Then I got phone call again and been told they can't finish today and will be ready by next day lunch time. I have no car to use, can't drive my kids to their activities. When I finally got phone call said the car is ready to pick up I have been told I need pay 3624$! Plus I already paid before turns out over 4500$! This car market value even less than 4500$. The story not ending, next day when I use the remote opened the trunk and can't close it. My husband worked half day on it, then figured out we can use the key or pull button inside the car open the trunk and close it. Just can't use the remote. It's ok with us. Yesterday I got phone call followed up ask me if everything good. I told him about the trunk. They want me drive there let them take a look. Then I drove there this morning with a CLOSED trunk. They checked and told me still need 350$ to fix it. I decided no to do it and they return me the key with a OPEN trunk! When I ask them put the trunk back to where it was. They said the lock is broken can't close! But before they checked the trunk was open/ close perfectly just can't use remote! it's RIDICULOUS!!! I'm going to share my story via social media let all my friends and neighbors be aware of this kind of traps.

Worst experience ever

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

This people took advantage of two naive female costumers, their prices are over inflated and the parts they changed are not even the originals. If there were a minus stars that is what these people would have!

I went there with my daugther to get her car's breaks check out and a State Inspection. I had a bill of $952.38! They charged a labor work of $ 71.37 for changing back rear wipers that cost $28.58! They removed and replaced both rear shocks that I don't even asked for to charge $476.08 on labor work.

The parts are not originals but the price were. The only fair price was the vehicle inspection!

Scandalous

Management makes employees "RIG" repairs, then the employees get into trouble when the cars come back for the same problem. Customers are lied to about repairs needed or done. Employees have been told they need to work on their scheduled days off, while management hets their days off. High stress job because of personal drama brought into the work place. Counter staff sells things without ever looking at the car. Management second guesses everything the techs say in order to find a cheaper way. Management only cares about their bonuses.

I was sold a package of oil changes for the wrong oil

I am a female business women who knows plenty about business and GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE and nothing about cars. I went to the Driver Auto at 5959 FM 1463, Katy, TX for an oil change.

I was told my car took synthetic oil and they did an the oil change. When checking out, the then manager suggested a package of 5 oil changes for $100. When I went back for my second oil change I was told I was sold the wrong oil. When I asked if their employee sold me something I didn't need that could possibly have damage my car, I was told that he was no longer there and I could purchase the difference of $50 for the right package.

When I tried to explain this was not good customer service, I was told " I haven't done anything wrong" several times.

Not doing what is right for your customer and making an enemy is wrong, Philip. I will never do business with this company again and I will be having my car tested to see if any damage was done by them when using the wrong oil.

And keep every receipt including the original from Drivers.

Being charged for something I didn't receive

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I was 350 miles from home and went to Driver's Auto "Repair" on Louetta. I got home and less than a month later had to have the SAME work done again on my car. After much frustration and going back and forth with Mr Darnell, we came to an agreement. However, he refused to take into account that I was charged $169. for an AC Delco battery that I did NOT receive. (I still had my SuperStart battery under my hood when I got home.) Accordingly, I had to have this so-called new battery replaced one year later. The questionable business dealings is just one reason I will never go back to Driver's Auto "Repair". Google it and you'll find lots of interesting facts and names of people associated with it. Save yourself lots of time and energy and STAY AWAY from Driver's Auto "Repair".

Oil Change

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I visited the Driver's Auto Repair 5105 S. Mason RD branch for my car engine oil change on December 15, 2016. I tried to use one of my prepaid oil change cards which I purchased in July 23, 2016. A person who said his name is George refused to change the engine oil for my car. He said I need to fix the leak due to valve cover gasket. I went to another workshop AutoRite and I showed the work order from Driver's Auto to them. The technician at AutoRite fixed the leak for my car. On December 16, 2016, I went to Driver's Auto Repair 5105 S. Mason RD branch again and told them the leak has been fixed by another work shop AutoRite. I also showed the paper work from AutoRite to George. George still refused to change the engine oil for my car. He said there was another leak so he did not want to change the engine oil for my car using my prepaid card. I have my car checked by other work shops and they said the leak has been fixed and no problem to change engine oil for my car. I talked to George again. I asked him to refund my prepaid cards because he did not want to provide the service, so that I can have another workshop to change engine oil for my car. He became angry. He said he could not refund me. He will send my repaid cards to his corporate. I asked him how long it takes to refund. He said he didn't know. I asked him for his corporate phone number so that I can follow up. He said he would not give me the corporate phone number.

Cypress location - the past two times I've been to this location for an oil change, they told I have major repairs needed. First quote was for a rack and pinion leak to the tune of $1200. Second quote was for a leak in the power steering pump to the tune of $1600 dollars. Avoid this place - total scam and way marked up labor/parts.

They stick you on labor costs with a smile.

This is regarding the Pearland location, where they smile to your face as they reach in your wallet. First they stick you with a hefty diagnostic fee (they won't accept others diagnostics) and you have to pay it unless you use them for the work. Next, they come in shaking their head with a smile and drop the "here's the deal" speech. My last experience they wanted over 1200 dollars mostly in labor. They claimed the job would require removal of the turbo charger accounting for most of the hours, but two other shops (one of them the dealership) furrowed their brows at this. The dealership said 400 (and we know dealerships overcharge) and another shop claimed even less than this. This is the second time these guys have tried to stick me, so I guess it's my fault. I went last time cause its the only place I could make it to with my work hours. I think they stay open later to catch people who are desperate. If in the end this job is completed for substantially less than their offer, I will likely be calling the BBB, and I am not generally a complainer.
