Incompetent even for simple oil changes

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Drivers Auto Repair on 5959 **** in Katy did the last 2 oil changes on my vehicle and stripped the oil drain plug. The idiot manager, Brandon, attempted to fool the customer by claiming that differential metals exposed to high temperatures can strip a bolt within 2 months and 1000 miles.

How condescending is that. Does not have the intelligence or the dignity to admit fault. Your company needs to fix the mistakes you made and terminate that idiot, Brandon.

Gave a one star review on Google only because that was the lowest ranking I could give and negative numbers are not available. Demanding compensation for the cost of damage done to my vehicle and refund on the remaining future oil changes purchased.

He doesn't stand by his work, and clearly they don't even do the work.. They will ruin your car and rob you of your money. He is unprofessional and actually blames you for the work they did that they preformed incorrectly!! If you want to lose money, rent a tow truck and lose time off from work then go..

Drivers Auto Repair Vehicle Inspection Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Took my truck in for an inspection. I drove in the rain to get there.

My truck failed the inspection because of " leaks in the breaks and rack and pinion" they gave me an estimate of $2,200. The "leaks" were actually from a puddle I ran through.

Went somewhere else for a second opinion, no leaks. Save your money.

Unpleasant experience

I did my new car's first oil change and tire rotation in this shop yesterday. It ended up I have to pay another $146.XX to cover one wheel stud they broke. When I told GM Darrol Hardee my car is new and never done tire rotation before. He replied me that with his 30 years of experience, the stud could be broken when the car was in the factory. He kept playing innocent and won't give me the key till I paid bill. In the end, I had to split the bill with the shop to get my key back. I was very disappointed to this shop especially when the manager won't take the responsibilities of the mistakes by their own fault and let customers to suffer. I could done this maintenance in my dealer with lower rate without any of these troubles since my car is under factory warranty. I would not recommend this shop for good!

LYING THIEVES- DO NOT GO THERE!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I dropped off my SUV to Driver's Auto Repair on SH 242 in the The Woodlands yesterday at 12:30. My primary issue was the top-mount brake light on the spoiler was not working, but the bottom brake lights worked. I researched this on YouTube and a dozen videos all showed the problem is a faulty brake switch. The part can be purchased at AutoZone for $18. I'm not mechanically inclined and frankly don't have the physical capability to deal with it. Relayed this information to the manager. At 3:30, I got a call that the LED panel was bad but they would have to order part for it. They then commenced to give me a laundry list of problems that needed attention. I agreed to have brakes replaced and for an oil change. Hours went by, and I finally called to inquire when my car would be ready for pick up. They told me at 7:00 (closing time). My husband and I arrived promptly at 7 and sat there another 30 minutes before my car was "ready." The invoice total was $1,424.76!

They charged me for multiple items that were done without my consent. Plus, they put 5W-30 oil in my SUV, which Acura specifies 5W-20 ONLY. I returned today at 12:30 to have the LED brake panel installed. After waiting 3 hours, they told me it wasn't working because the brake switch is bad. I TOLD THEM THAT YESTERDAY!!! Again, they said they don't have the part. They told me to go home and they'd call in an hour or so for me to bring it back in. It is 5:50 p.m. and no phone call.

Tomorrow, my husband and I are going to pay a visit to these crooks. They've got some explaining to do, but I'm no fool. All we'll get is the "run-around." VERY expensive lesson learned.

DO NOT GO TO DRIVER'S AUTO REPAIR.

Please rip me off!

Oh yeah never mind, you already did. My son got charged over $400.00 for a wiring job and all that was wrong was a blown fuse.

Can you say DIAGNOTIC check, obviously not. Now he is out the money and can we do about it. The work, (LOL) was done at the Hempstead location. I don't know why I have to write so many extra words.

Isn't straight and to the point not good enough.

Help me, help me I need a more filler words to finish up this compliant. I called customer service and I still haven't heard from them, when they do call I will probably hear the voice on the line," hello my name is Peggy".

This is the most corrupted, unethical, selfish, merciless, cruelest, evil, shameless, cocienseless, despicable, heinous, crooked, egocentric, godless, careless, bunch of thieves and licensed criminals that I have ever seen in my life.

You can go to any ,of all their locations, and the result is always going to be the same, a very unsatisfactory and negative overall experience

They got by far, the most expensive prices, exceeding dealearship prices by double or tripple.

8 out of 10 of their employees, look like they got hired, immeadiately after being realeased from a Maximun Security Penitentiary Facility.

I bet anything, that they do not do a very thorough screening process, including background checks, and drug screenings on the company employees.

I have been to all their locations, and I have gotten to smell several of the company's employees, who smell severely, intoxicated, drugged up, including supervisors. Most of them stink and do not take care of themselves and their personal grooming.

It seems as if this company hires, the first *** that walks, through the door. They claim to especialize in any vehicle make or model, but it obviously seems that they don't have the knowledge, or the capability to properly repair a trycicle. They are always preying and targeting innocent HOUSTONIANS, like a hungry lion, watching and waiting to eat a baby dear.

This people should be stopped by the authorities, and probably investigated by local and state officials, including the federal government and IRS. I am tired of seeing their 1 or 2 star ratings, in every imaginable or possible existing website, were inocent customers are still being taking advantage of for years by this thieves, and no one has the courage to stop this criminals and put a stop to their lies, scams, and corruption.

Drivers Auto Repair Services Review from Houston, Texas

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Went in to have turn signal light bulb exchange. See tech changing out bulbs I never asked to be changed.

After a couple of hours of waiting, I had to ask what is the hold up. Rude Ray, "oh ma'am it will be about an hr. We had to order the bulb from the warehouse". Never asked if I needed a ride (since they offered shuttle service).

Another hr goes by, I am now asking for my vehicle. 45 mins later, I am still asking for my vehicle. Rude Ray, "hollers HOLD ON". Horrible experience from 11:00 - 2:00.

Was told my turn signal light bulb was fixed. Guess what, it is not. So, what was done to my car from 11:00 - 2:00?

If you meet Ray, run as fast as you can from this place. Rated a minus 10 for customer service.

Wont always start

sometimes the car would start, but wont turn over all the way so i called them. i had been to drivers auto in the past, and liked the manager that was there at the time.

he is no longer there. i didnt know that until i got there. i should had had enough sense to leave, but i didnt. i was told on the phone by the employee at the front desk that they could run a diagnostic text for free, but guess what, that isnt true.

i was dumb enough to pay the 140 for the test. the manager gave me the result of the test. oh, i should mention, out of fairness, that the engine light has been on for a good while, so some of the items on the list was for that reason. nevertheless, their total was for over 1500.

i surely cant afford that. a friend suggested that i go to firestone (located on 105 in conroe). they ran a dignostic test, found basically the same things, but they are charging seven hundred dollars less!! they explained to me what is going to be needed to take care of the starting problem,.

and what parts belong to the engine light being on.

at auto, they didnt do that, but the manager did make the remark, after he handed me the list, that i probably didnt know what any of the needed parts were for.

he also said that the reason that the fuel pump was so high was because the fuel pump is now electrical, where it didnt use to be. well, it seems strange to me that if thats the case, then why is firestones fuel pump a 100 dollars less.

i would definitely suggest going to firestone instead.

i have to add this item to my review. i had decided the other day to send an email to drivers auto repair to let them know that i had written a review about my experience on this site.

well, i received a telephone call from drivers auto earlier today. they offered me a store credit of two hundred dollars, and two free oil changes.

guess they were concerned about my review.

Wrong oil filter used

Several years ago, I had some work done at Drivers Auto Repair. It was very unprofessional and poor workmanship.

I did not go back for any service work since then. In October 2015, I decided to give the place another chance by having them change the motor oil on my Sonata. After the oil change, my car did not run as well as before the oil change; and it hesitated when speeding up. At first, I though it was due to the age of the car.

Last week, as usual, I changed the motor oil and the filter on my Sonata myself. Then I realized Drivers Auto Repair put in an oversize oil filter in my Sonata during my Oct 2015 oil change. The filter was twice the size as a regular oil filter for a Sonata and Drivers Auto Repair stuck a wrong filter there for whatever reason. That explained why my Sonata had problem speeding up after the oil change at Drivers Auto Repair in 2015.

After I installed the proper oil filter, my Sonata is back to normal. I will never have any auto work done in Drivers Auto Repair on 242 again.

Suspicious diagnosis

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

this is my second visit to Driver's Auto Repair and both time my car was misdiagnosed. The first time was last December, I took may car in for a starting problem and was told I needed to replace wiring and clean out some ignition ports which cost $ 1200.00 dollars.

After I pick my car up the next morning my car failed to start. I took it to the dealer and the starter was replaced. Today I picked my car up after taking it in for the check engine light being on and was told a short in a wire behind the alternator was the cause of the problem. My check engine light is still on.

Before I made payment I ask the attending manager was the light off and he said yes.

Driver's Auto in Pearland Texas do not seem to be very reputable. I want my money back.

"OIL CHANGE NIGHTMARE!" (make sure they DO IT!!)

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My disaster with Drivers is following a routine service incl synthetic oil change...first no sticker placed detailing next service etc? no big deal right?

WRONG my volvo engine ran DRY!OUT OF OIL! in under 120 days? no oil leak? no detectable reason why?

how does a car lose 5-6 quarts of oil??? check engine light brings to my attention...drivers denies all and claims some 3 part check that change had been done...then bills me 700buck and I'm done right? WRONG engine light back on same day and now a bill for 1200 dollars!!

that's almost 2000.00 for their own negligence that one of their OWN employees told me about!! This is NOT OVER...DO NOT TRUST THEM

doesn't drivers auto repair have a written guarantee regarding their synthetic oil change that states something like "good up to 9000 miles of oil viscosity?" Yet they say this guy burned up a Volvo engine by going up to 5k? That just doesn't happen...they are losing money and customers fast but just don't care?

BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU RATES DRIVERS AN "F!" that's right the most reputable consumer advocate company on the planet rates drivers a big fat F!!! so, ask yourself....should I take my car, mode of transportation, means to make a living, maybe more to you even? Ask yourself should I go to a BBB rated "F!" car repair center???
